And now we know why Boeing was so obsessed with getting the MAZ grandfathered under the older FAA certificates. China is playing a long game, though.

What we need is a new Silicon Valley startup to come in and disrupt the commercial aircraft industry with a cutting edge new design, like maybe a nuclear powered flying wing or something. If they start today, it could be in service by 2050, they would just need $1 trillion or so.

Given today’s income inequality, you want to make your money flying offering premium services for the rich, not trying to efficiently move large numbers of the middle class.
(Also, I have no idea why Spike Aero’s renders suck so hard, I’m sure some flight sim modder would have been happy to make them something way prettier for a few hundred dollars.)

No, what I can deliver is a new platform to move from one place to the next. Faster and easier than existing airlines. I’ll combine artificial intelligence and synergistic capabilities of a dedicated workforce to achieve the impossible. We’ll revolutionize transportation. I just need all the money. All of it.
Gib now.
Totally doable. I promise.
